Going Dormant - Suspending your studies

IMPORTANT

If you applied to the Student Loans Company for funding, and your circumstances have changed, please complete and submit this form. We can then inform Student Finance England (or other awarding body) of the change.

Failure to do so may jeopardise your funding.

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to this, you may need to log in to your Student Finance account to update your information.
Students can access this service via the appropriate Student Finance website:

Scottish students will continue with the existing process of notifying SAAS of any changes.

Going Dormant?

Please ensure that you have spoken to your course administrator about going dormant before submitting this form

Students who suspend their studies may still be liable for a percentage of their tuition fee. Your fee liability will be calculated from the date that the university receives your dormancy form.

If you are in receipt of maintenance support from the SLC then you may be required to pay some of this back immediately. The SLC will contact you if immediate payment is required.

Suspending your studies will affect your future funding entitlement with the SLC. Please contact funding@herts.ac.uk to discuss further.
